Evan Parker, Barry Guy and percussionist Paul Lytton are joined by the Catalan pianist Agusti Fernandez for a series of quartets, trios and a duo which were recorded live at l'Auditori in Barcelona in March 2006. All four are members of Evan Parker's Electro-Acoustic Ensemble, while Parker, Guy and Lytton have performed and recorded together on many occasions.
Fernandez's mercurial articulations of the piano keys and the strings inside the instrument create an almost microscopic world of shifting colours and densities. The nine tracks represent short essays in controlled instrumental integration and quick fire responses to the nuances of the changing textures. Four dedicated musicians continuing their voyage of discovery and invention.
