Description
Bassist, composer and educator Ben Wolfe in his debut on the MazJazz string series. The album features some outstanding musicians including saxophonists Marcus Strickland and Branford Marsalis, trumpeter and MaxJazz recording artist Terell Stafford, pianist Luis Perdomo and drummers Greg Hutchinson and Jeff "Tain" Watts.
Ben wrote and arranged all of the compositions. The format combines a standard jazz quartet along with a string quartet for certain compositions and the end result is intriguing and captivating.
Ben has been an integral part of bands led by a who's who of jazz artists including Harry Connick Jr., Diana Krall and Wynton Marsalis. He also is a faculty member at the Julliard School of Music.
