KENNY WHEELER is a thoughtful trumpeter whose avant-garde tendencies are tempered (but nevermitigated) by a sense of lyrical poise. JOHN ABERCROMBIE is a sensitive guitarist who successfully incorporates many styles in service of his own unique sound. And MARC COPLAND, the group's administrative leader (though musically they are most definitely a collective), is a pianist who's at home with subtly reconstituting harmonic terrain.
