  • Description

This group was put together by trumpeter Lyder Roed in 2023 after having played with everyone in different settings across Norway for several years. These musicians are some of Lyder's favourite musicians on the scene right now and makes a perfect fit for the music. The members are known for their work with Fieh, Tigerstate, Philip Granly trio, General Post Office, Gabriella Garrubo and many other projects.

The new music of the Lyder Roed quintet is honest and sincere. Inspired by Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, Nat Adderley, and in general a lot of the jazz music from the 60s. Not to forget the more modern inspirations, most notably from Roy Hargrove. Since the first album the music has evolved to draw more inspiration from the American jazz tradition, but it still has a foot or at least some toes in the Norwegian jazz landscape!

The album was recorded over a whole week at Flerbruket studios in Oslo. All the music is written and arranged by Lyder. It is recorded with everyone in the same room without any editing or afterwork except mixing and mastering.

    Lyder Roed: flugelhorn and trumpet
    Aksel Roed: saxophone
    Philip Granly: piano
    Andreas Svabo: bass
    Elias Tafjord: drums
