Exit Stage Left is Night Flight's follow-up to 2023's acclaimed Songs From Echo Zoo.
Night Flight--comprised of songwriting duo Sam Holmes (lead vocals, guitar, keyboards) and Harry Phillips (lead guitar, vocals)--have honed their distinct sound with a collection of ten exquisitely crafted songs that explore the emotional push and pull of life, love, and growing up. Drawing on influences from The Band to Big Star, Nick Drake to Elliott Smith, and laced with the dry wit of Randy Newman, Exit Stage Left marks a bold new chapter for the band.
"Exit Stage Left feels more true to ourselves than anything we've worked on in the past," says Harry. "From every demo Sam and I passed back and forth to the finished tracks, I can hear all of our influences, imperfections, and friendship laid out clearly. It's the culmination of years of experience and lessons learned together."
Exit Stage Left was recorded between Echo Zoo Studios in Eastbourne and London's Fish Factory and 123 Studios, produced by Caradog Jones, and showcases Night Flight at their most focused and emotionally resonant. The band's evolution from a four-piece to a duo has brought clarity and warmth to their music, embracing a sonic world inspired by artists like Father John Misty and The Shins, while maintaining the thoughtful songwriting that has always defined them.
