American tenor saxophonist Johnny Griffin earned the title "Fastest tenor in the West" in the 1950s and it's obvious why from the great tracks on this CD. Recorded in Cophagen's Montmarte and Slukefter clubs in 3 sessions, 1964, 1984 and 1989, among the other featured artists are Eddie "Lockjaw"Davis, Kenny Drew and Niels-Henning Orsted Pedersen.
