Description
The Dave O'Higgins Quartet/Quintet is made up of some of the UK's finest musicians: Dave O'Higgins (tenor and soprano saxophone), Martin Shaw (trumpet), Tom Cawley (piano), Sam Burgess (bass) and Sebastiaan de Krom (drums).
The album is a mixture of jazz standards and original tunes all with reference to the great saxophonists including Charlie Parker, Sonny Rollins, Dexter Gordon, Wayne Shorter, Joe Henderson and John Coltrane.
Dave is twice winner of Best Tenor Sax, British Jazz Awards and has worked with the Ronnie Scott's Allstars and the BBC Big Band. He has also worked extensively with Itchy Fingers, Martin Taylor, Jim Mullen, Joe Locke, Jamie Cullum, Kyle Eastwood, John Dankworth & Cleo Laine and Matthew Herbert, to name a few.
