Description
Three young guitarists - Jamie Fekete, Sophie Johnson and Sam Slater - formed Trio Gitano in early 2001 after performing together at venues such as Birmingham Symphony Hall and The Royal Festival Hall, London, with the Birmingham Schools' Guitar Ensemble. Adapting music from the Jazz, Latin and Flamenco cultures, TG also perform original material and arrangements, alongside works from artists such as Paco de Lucia, Django Reinhardt, Paul Desmond and Paulo Bellinati.
The trio are musically directed by the talented Bryan Lester, who writes and arranges music and material for the group. After graduating from Birmingham University in the summer of 2004 the trio finally began recording this long-awaited debut album.
