I am happy to welcome the young and talented Eva Slongo to the select club of modern jazz violinists. His playing and his compositions are both inspired and musical and his beautiful ability to sing adds a unique touch to his universe. >>Jean-Luc Ponty After a challenging classical course, Eva Slongo, through jazz improvisation, finally found a salutary freedom of expression. Like a new "Breath", title of the album, whose challenge was to bring together these two totally different musical universes that are jazz and classical music. Two worlds which have successively deeply imbued the personality of the artist. A quest for both musical and personal authenticity: a reconciliation between past and present. An essential return to basics coupled with a life mission: to make classical musicians aware of the joys of improvisation offered by jazz. To merge these two worlds, it was necessary to perfectly master the codes in order to find common characteristics. These particularities which, like a bridge joining two cities, make possible their association... (collaboration between them allowing them to unite) In this specific case, this bridge takes the form of the Souffle album. At the heart of this album: compositions by Eva Slongo and covers of masterpieces by Beethoven, Erik Satie and Gabriel Faure... With his elegant touch of velvet, GIOVANNI MIRABASSI perfectly knew how to capture the subtlety of this musical alloy and ensured its artistic direction. He brought together around Eva these great jazzmen always eager to think outside the box: BAPTISTE HERBIN, FRANCOIS MOUTIN and LUKMIL PEREZ.
