Description
Anke Helfrich is one of the outstanding jazz musicians in Europe, and the list of her Awards and the prominent names she has already played with speak for themselves (She played with Johnny Griffin, Benny Bailey, Jimmy Woode, Roy Hargrove, Nils Landgren etc). She developed her own style, which is characterised by musicality, sound sensuality, swinging virtuosity and the ability to listen.
Her album 'We'll Rise' is inspired women and forgotten pioneers from art, science and sport, who have courageously and resolutely defied convention and thus paved the way paved the way for others. Helfrich created the intimate musical portraits through the use of language and touching original tones as well as the special sound of the didgeridoo.
