Most followers of Losen Records know Bernt Moen as a great pianist. Here he is playing an old upright piano in duo with the vocalist Silje Kafjordrecorded live in an analogue studio. This is beautiful music; original songs composed by Silji with lyrics that cover some of the everyday emotions we all experience or appreciate at some point in our lives. Laying somewhere between singer-song-writer pop, jazz, and folk, this is a hard album to categorize, but nonetheless worthy of the attention of fans of all those genres.
"We recorded the album at Dakkota Studio (a former barn) in Hamar, Norwat. Me and Silje have been working together for some time and we have performed numerous concerts as a duo over the years. It was natural to do the recording in the same wat as our live performances. Silje was standing right next to me, and you can hear her moving around the microphone for the dynamics and all the mechanical noises of the superb upright piano I had the pleasure of playing.
