Description
One of the most celebrated guitarists in the history of recorded music, Grady Martin was regarded by his fellow Nashville "A" Teamers as the finest session picker of all. Immeasurably versatile and influential, he was active from the late 40s until the 1980s.
Martin's most memorable/celebrated Rockabilly playing was with The Johnny Burnette Rock & Roll Trio, whose records, were the touchstone for subsequent generations of R&R and Rock axemen.
This compilation presents a snapshot of Grady's session work between 1952 and 1962, and also includes one of his own "solo" recordings.
It includes hits - even a few million-sellers - but features predominantly flips, flops, album tracks, and a sprinkling of collectors' rarities.
Other featured artists include Patsy Cline, Janis Martin, Johnny Horton, Buddy Holly, Brenda Lee, Marty Robbins, Conway Twitty, Don Gibson and many more.
All musical genres are covered, with strong emphases on Country, R&R and Rockabilly.
