    Two of Heifetz's most important concerts in his career presented for the first time on CD.

    The set includes the Korngold Violin Concerto in D major, Op.35 and the Mozart Violin Concerto No.5 in A major, recorded live at Carnegie Hall on 30th March, 1947, with the New York Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra and conducted by Efrem Kurtz.
    The bonus at the end of the first disc is the Heifetz-Piatigorsky last concert at Carnegie Hall on 15 October, 1966.
    The second disc features the Beethoven Violin Concerto in D major, Op.61 with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Paul Paray, recorded live at the un General Assembly Hall on 9th December, 1959. A second piece from the Heifetz-Piatigorsky last concert at Carnegie Hall follows: Brahms Double Concerto for violin and cello in A minor, Op.102.

    These recording have been restored and remastered. Some background noise and applause has been kept in order to maintain the atmosphere of the live concerts.
