This has been much in demand as the core material still forms much of the basis of The Invaders Of The Heart live set. It is a stunning live sound replicated here in the studio and drawing on both PIL and The Invaders Of The Heart back catalogue while exploring classic soundtrack and dub. Wobble noted on the original release: "This band has been a delight to play with over the last couple of years or so. Similar to my first early eighties version of the Invaders. They can all really play. Plus all generic bases (no pun intended) are now covered. It's a big deal to me because it's like a 35 year old dream has finally been realised. This is how I heard The Invaders of the Heart sound all those years ago. A classy fusion of genres. Groovy, dubby but always changing and developing. Never standing still. Jah Wobble." Featuring new recordings of both Invaders and Public Image Ltd material, it opens with a re-working of 'Public Image' that soothes the edgy, fretting, claustrophobic nature of the original with an arrangement that is arguably more challenging than the shock of the post-Pistols original. A truncated, and equally unusual reimagining of 'Socialist' immediately continues the PIL reflections before the blitzed-out 'Doctrine Of Drum & Bass' gives way to a sumptuous 'Midnight Cowboy'. The John Barry theme tune is treated reverentially and the result is classy and beautiful. Dawn Penn's rocksteady classic 'No, No, No' is next up for a makeover with Aurora Dawn providing as heartfelt vocal over a classic Wobble bass line full of space and with an insistent pulse. The diversity continues with a mesmerising Wobble original, 'Becoming More Like God'. The diversity continues with the theme from Get Carter, a choral-inspired 'Visions Of You' with Holly Macve replacing O'Connor's original vocals, and an expanded, funk-inspired 'Fodderstompf'. All are sufficiently different to warrant renewed attention.
