Description
This band is iconic! OM made history from 1972 to 1982 combining the energy of rock music with the power of free improvisation. With enormous vitality they bring together the experiences of a young generation electrified by Jimi Hendrix, fascinated by John Coltrane and inspired by free jazz. OM introduced rock music into spontaneous musical processes with uncertain endings. "ElectroAcoustiCore" is what they call their music. In 2022, the band celebrated its 50th anniversary with the album 50. One month before its release, Fredy Studer passed away. "In the spirit of survival, OM carried on, touring to support 50 and adding two drummers to fill the titan Studer's shoes," writes Kurt Gottschalk in the liner notes and adds: "OM steps into its second demi-siecle as an energetic and insightful outfit." The journey goes on!
