  • Description

Bridget Battles last band might have been a high school choir, but the 21-year-old singer for Cincinnatis Tweens is no goody two shoes. Look no further for proof than Tweens, the punk-tinged debut from the trash-pop trio, showcasing a melodic, driven and exceedingly catchy sound.

Tweens only formed in 2012, but have already made a name for themselves among fans, including The Breeders, who invited the band to open for them on a recent US tour. Booked for one show they ended up playing the full West Coast tour. They've also toured with the Black Lips, who they share a party-centric attitude with.

Citing Bay Area punks The Donnas, The Trashwomen and the Bobbyteen as influences and that bubblegum badass vibe is apparent throughout.

The first single, Be Mean, is a biting anthem, while Forever harkens back to a girl-gang sound, this time with diving bass. Rat your hair, slip on your leather jacket and hold on tight because Tweens may be young but theyre certainly not nave, and with the release of Tweens, theyre breaking curfew and nobodys safe.
