Originally released in 1983 after August notced up UK Top 10 hits with the singles ‘I’m A Wonderful Thing (Baby)’, ‘Stool Pigeon’ and ‘Annie, I’m Not Your Daddy’ in 1982. The last of which came from his UK #3 album ‘Tropical Gangsters’.
‘A Night In New York’ was the album’s first single and was a big airplay hit in the UK. The single spent five weeks in the Top 40 in early 1984 as well as reaching #24 in the Dance charts in the States.
