  • Description

The mighty PHUTURISTIX (aka Zed Bias and Injekta) touching down with their first 12" on Hospital. Previously with Locked On, and now signed to Hospital with an album due later in the year, this A-list project kicks off with the awesome Feel It Out, featuring Mr J on vocals. It's proper 2step soul, and what a way to kick off 2003!

The more militant heads should head straight to the flip, which sees Daluq on the remix. It's a lead lined bass bin shaker – doing serious damage on the dancefloor at Forward's new Plastic People residency.

Feel it out is already gaining A-list support from the likes of Jay Da Flex, Gilles Peterson, Mr Scruff and of course Zed Bias himself.

    Description

The Phuturistix debut long player has been a long time in the making. With the core production partnership of Zed Bias (godfather of break-step) and Manchester's Injekta, this A-list project is some serious twisted soul music.

Redirecting the garage sound towards a deep, soulful future, it's rhythm music with no limits. Originally conceived in the late '90's, Phuturistix released 2000's 'Matrix EP' and 2001's 'Deep Down EP' on Locked-On.

Now signed to Hospital, the debut album 'Feel It Out' paints a bigger picture, combining the depth of soul and jazz-past with the tuff swing of garage and ruffness of UK urban rhythms. The album features a host of underground British stars including Jenna G, Atjazz, Mr J and Amma.

The crossover appeal is apparent when you take a look at the names who are supporting the album; from break-step soldiers Jay Da Flex and Oris Jay, to house heads like Ashley Beedle, to freestyle legends Gilles Peterson and Mr Scruff.

    We can see the Phuture.
