Few guitarist have had more impact than Chet Atkins, who was a seminal figure in country music and rock & roll. His distinctive thumb-and-fingerpicking style and musicianship brought him admires inside and outside the country music scene , both in the United States and abroad; from George Harrison, Duane Eddy and The Ventures, to George Benson, Eric Clapton, and Mark Knopfler, among many others.
This essential release includes two of Chet Atkins' most popular albums from the peak of his career; his best album to date, 'Chet Akins' workshop' and 'The Most Popular Guitar'. Both albums were originally issued in 1961 and have been long unavailable on CD. They are full of jazz-influenced pop instrumental with very little country flavour. In addition, this remastered collector's release contains 5 bonus tracks from the same period.
