Description
Collector's 6-panel digipak series with comprehensive booklet.
Bill Haley and His Comets were the first group to bring rock & roll to the attention of white America. The Comets were one of the best side bands of their era, with a mostly sax-driven sound ornamented with heavy rhythm guitar from Haley, a slap-bass, and drumming with lots of rim-shots – they had the "blackest" sound of any white band working in the mid- and late Fifties. This CD release includes two superb, long-unavailable albums by Haley & His Comets: Rockin' Around the World (1958), and Haley's Juke Box (1960). Both LPs present great moments from the band's hit-making stretch during their most inspired years. In addition, this remastered collector's edition contains 6 bonus tracks – consisting of hard-to-find sides from the same period.
