Dreaming of the Funk Master is the second solo album from ex-Simply Red keyboardist David Clayton, who is joined by a host of Simply Red alumni across 9 tracks of instrumental jazz-funk, Latin grooves and infectious jazz fusion.
During his illustrious career, David has played with Simply Red for two decades, as well as working with many other amazing artists and bands that include George Michael, Depeche Mode, U2, David Bowie, ABC, Marc Almond, Take That, Bob Marley, Pino Daniele, Paul Rutherford, the Human League, Robbie Williams, Pet Shop Boys and Karl Bartos of Kraftwerk.
In addition, David has worked on various solo projects and released funk, jazz, and soul albums with his music partner, Marco Perry, as Pressure Zone and composed music for numerous films, documentaries and television shows.
Dreaming of the Funk Master was co-produced, mastered and engineered by David Clayton's great friend Jon Russell. They're joined by guitarists John Etheridge, Kenji Suzuki and Patrick Murdoch, bassists Tom Traint and Steve Lewinson, drummer Roman Roth and others.
It's available on heavyweight black vinyl and 6-panel digipak editions, with an extra bonus track on the CD version.
