Description
Previously unreleased live recording from 1974 by the tenor saxophonist Spike Robinson, whose languorous style, beautiful tone and fondness for the Great American Songbook made him a popular draw on the UK jazz circuit in the 20 years before his death in 2001.
Robinson recorded this session when he was living and working in Boulder, Colorado and only playing part-time. When he retired from his job as an engineer he turned to performing full-time, eventually making his home in the UK where he recorded a number of well-received albums for the Hep label.
Personnel: Spike Robinson (tenor saxophone), Dale Bruning (guitar), Dick Patterson (bass), Derryl Goes (drums)
