Description
To say that Gwilym Simcock's debut album is awaited with huge anticipation would be no exaggeration. Gwilym is generally considered to be the most exciting British pianist/composer to emerge in recent years, as Chick Corea said: "Gwilym's an original. A creative genius."
A previous winner of The Perrier Award, BBC Jazz Awards and British Rising Star Awards, this year he was voted Jazz Musician Of The Year at The Parliamentary Jazz Awards and is currently a BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist.
The trio is completed by Phil Donkin (bass) and Martin France (drums) with guest appearances on several tracks by Stan Sultzmann (tracks), John Parricelli (guitar) and Ben Bryant (percussion).
