Description
The term "clavis metrica" traditionally refers to a catalogue of poetic meters, poems written explicitly to explore shifting verse forms and demonstrate the virtuosity of the author. Inspired by ancient Icelandic poetry, Guomundur Steinn Gunnarsson has composed his own musical clavis metrica. The meter provides a flexible canvas for musical composition that can withstand many variations in musical rhythm and melody, while still remaining recognisable to the trained poetic ear. Guomundur Steinn Gunnarsson is one of the pioneers of animated notation. His work is based on an intuitive exploration of organic rhythms that are not tied to a metronomic meter and that push the boundaries of traditional rhythmic concepts and notation. Ensemble Adapter is an experimental music group based in Berlin. Driven by its founders Matthias Engler (percussion) and Gunnhildur Einarsdottir (harp), it focuses on collaborative work with partners from various artistic backgrounds worldwide.
