Description
With his Männerchorvereinigung and the brass ensemble of Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz, Thomas Kerbl presents the second edition of secular men's choirs. Bruckner's own choir experience as a bass and his activity as a musical director formed the basis for a vast number of choir works, in which the large quantity of secular works displays a hitherto hardly known facet in Bruckner's oeuvre, as he is frequently reduced to his function as a church musician. The Männerchorvereinigung is supported by Christian Schmidbauer, the soloists Michael Nowak, Matthäus Schmidlechner and Martin Kiener, tenor, Markus Schulz and Walter Johannes Fischer, bass, and Philipp Sonntag on the organ.
