To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the late-period T Rex classic 'Futuristic
Dragon' and this year's National Album Day celebration of musical Icons,
Demon are pleased to announce this limited-edition picture disc Zoetrope.
As a listen to the album will attest, by the time Marc Bolan and his newly
honed T. Rex came to record 'Futuristic Dragon', his creative mojo was well
and truly back on track, culminating in a beguiling, bubbling blend of cosmic
soul and breathtaking post-glitter Britrock. Some of its tracks count among
the very best of Bolan's illustrious career, from the grinding post-glam
boogie of 'Jupiter Liar' and poetic swoon of 'Chrome Sitar' to the seductive
laidback R&B of 'Ride My Wheels'. And to top all that there were two hit
singles as well – the freaky 'New York City' and intoxicating 'Dreamy Lady.
Pressed in a very limited run, this new Zoetrope picture disc edition, when
placed on a turntable will appear to come to life, with George Underwood's
epic sci-fi / fantasy sleeve of Bolan riding a mythical beast animating before
your very eyes!
