Description
"Niamh de Búrca is one of Irish music’s best-kept secrets. She possesses a voice that stays with the listener." So says Altan’s Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh about this debut album from Dubliner Niamh de Búrca. And now the secret is out. Máire Breatnach’s masterful production of the album guarantees that Niamh’s golden voice will soon become one of Ireland’s best-loved sounds. Niamh’s singing has been long valued by her many musician friends and now that treasure is to be shared with all lovers of Irish music. Among the many highly regarded musicians who join with Niamh on her debut album are Séamus Brett, Mark Kelly (Altan), Bill Shanley (Mary Black Band), Mick O’Brien, Mick Giblin, James Blennerhasset (Mary Black, Frances Black), Danny Byrt, Jim O’Leary (Ragus), Fergal Ó Murchú (Ragus) and the widely acclaimed musician and composer Máire Breatnach, who also produces the album.
