Description
Across The Sea is a joyful album by award winning drummer, tabla player and composer Anmol Mohara that offers a contemporary reimagining of Nepal's rich musical heritage. After moving to the UK in 2015, Anmol was introduced to a wide range of musical cultures and genres. This exposure, combined with the experience of living far from home, deepened his connection to his roots. During his final year at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2022, he began writing original music that reflects this journey. Across The Sea is a heartfelt blend of traditional Nepali sounds and Anmol's diverse global influences-bridging past and present, home and abroad.
Anmol Mohara is a London-based, Nepali-born artist on a mission to introduce the traditional Nepali music in a contemporary setting to the world. Drawing inspiration from visionary artists like Trilok Gurtu, Karim Ziad, Nitin Sawhney, Oumou Sangare, Anmol's music blends the rich traditions of Nepali culture with the improvisational spirit of jazz and his diverse global influences, pioneering a unique sound world. Across The Sea is his debut album - a bold statement of identity and sonic innovation.
