Description
Super Best Friends Club (SBFC) operate somewhere between psychedelic rock, spiritual jazz and synth pop, with a complement of some of London's most in-demand musicians. Front man / multi-instrumentalist Jonah Brody (Sam Lee Band), drummer Maxwell Hallet (The Comet is Coming), Jordan Copeland bass (Hot Head Show), Jean de Talhoue Gtr/Synth & Joshua Green percussion/vocals (Sam Lee Band).
'Loveblows', the band's second album, presents a beautifully articulate and sensitive masterpiece of songcraft. Sonically rich it's lovingly realised by producer Capitol K (Loose Meat, Flamingods, Ibibio Sound Machine) and recorded at London's freshest DIY music hub Total Refreshment centre.
"We made this record as a celebration of vividness," say the band. "For peak experiences. As a way to get lost in the light. We wanted to feel together with everybody but mostly in our lives we experience separateness."
"Reaching out can feel embarrassing or awkward and that is often when people look the most beautiful. When they're vulnerable and are looking to connect. The music loves and also mourns this reality. If I could I'd change the world so we're blissing out constantly, eyeballs burning with awe. But we only seem to get that state very occasionally. So it's about trying to agree to the reality that turns up most mornings whilst blissing out at the same time." -
