This album contains a collection of archival record-ings documenting the short but brilliant career of golden-era polish soprano Ewa Gawronska, endowed with a beautiful, characteristic soprano voice. She was a soloist of the Warsaw Chamber Opera, the Warsaw Operetta, the Teatr Wielki - Polish National Opera and the Theatre in St. Gallen; she per-formed in almost all European and North American countries.
The album features recordings of opera arias with the participation of War-saw orchestras, as well as song performances with the accom-paniment of pianist Barbara Ropelewska, of whom the soprano was very fond of and was friends with.
The CD includes famous arias and songs, mainly by Polish composers, including Moniuszko, Szymanowski, Rozycki and Chopin, as well as arias from the staple repertoire of world operatic and operetta stages.
Regardless of the era, genre and nature of the presented works, the artist's interpretations are distinguished by extraordinary musicality, precision and excel-lent vocal technique.
The album is a symbolic return of the diva to Poland, a gift for lovers of her talent who remember the artist's live performances, as well as for those who have a chance to get to know her thanks to recordings.
