Osiris Trio / de Vries, Gerrie soprano
Description
The Osiris Trio's hallmark is its seasoned craftsmanship resulting from more
than 30 years of dedication; it strikes a fine balance between interpretative
depth and fresh inspiration in performing the classics from Haydn to Shostakovich.
It is also committed to expanding and renewing the trio repertoire, with
adventurous programming often including newly commissioned works. This recording represents modern works. On occasion extra artists are invited in order to perform larger scale chamber works and here they are accompanied by mezzo-soprano Gerrie de Vries.
The ensemble is a regular guest at the Dutch Orlando Festival, where it performs and coaches chamber music every year. The players share a strong sense of mission to pass on their refined craft to a new generation of musicians. They all hold teaching positions at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague. They also jointly teach a specialized piano trio Master's degree program at the conservatoires of The Hague and Amsterdam. The Osiris Trio is regularly invited to give master classes at various conservatoires abroad.
