Description
Stockholm, Sweden based Erik Sandqvist stands with one foot in indie rock and the other in contemporary jazz. The result is 'Bingo i lokalen' - an instrumental sax and guitar driven concept album about his family's old house, the surrounding environment, the people there and the loss of his grandfather who grew up in the house.
He slowly but steadily builds his songs into rewarding crescendos, filled with both melancholia and cheeriness and always entrenched in catchy melodies. Repetitive and intriguing, playful but sincere. Sandqvist takes us on a musical trip to northern and rural Bergvik, once home of the world's biggest sulphite factory but now left with a population of just a few hundred people, country houses and beautiful views combined with industrial footprints.
The record will be released alongside a full album music video showing the places that inspired this unique and ambitious album.
