An album of swinging seasonal delights from pianist, organist and vocalist Eric Reed. On Merry Magic, numbers like "The Christmas Song" and "Little Drummer Boy" are given classy jazz makeovers by a top class band, also featuring the vocals of Erin Bode and Paula West.
Largely self-taught, Eric Reed's career has blossomed following his early work with Wynton Marsalis, Freddie Hubbard and Joe Henderson. 2003 has been a prolific year for him with another album, E-Bop released by his quintet in the summer. Merry Magic is the seasonal icing on the cake and is the perfect gift for any discerning jazz fan. -
