Martin Carthy is just about the most famous folk singer in Great Britain. His 40 year plus career has brought him just about every plaudit possible to achieve in his chosen filed. He has won the BBC Radio 2 Folk Award for Singer Of The Year twice (2002 & 2005) and was awarded an M.B.E. for services to folk music in 1998.
