Having grown up only a few miles from his Dumfriesshire home of Ellisland Farm, Burns' music played a huge part in the musical heritage of Smith. Emily's crystal clear vocals, lyrical accordion and piano lines combine with the sensitive guitar and fiddle accompaniment from New Zealand born McClennan to make 'Adoon Winding Nith' one of the most original albums of Burns material available.
