This is the world premiere recording of Baldassarre Galuppi's little known opera L'Inimico della Donna (The Enemy of Women). Staged by Stefano Mazzonis di Pralafera this production took place in February 2011 at the Opera de Wallonie, Liege. Alongside a host of expert soloists, the renowned Italian early music specialist Rinaldo Alessandrini conducts the Opera Royal de Wallonie Orchestra. Alessandrini is regarded as a foremost interpreter of early Italian opera and has won many prestigious awards for his previous recordings on other labels.
