Description
Praised by the likes of Robin Denselow, Andy Gill, Howard Male and David Honigmann in the Guardian, Independent and FT no less, Dub Colossus have spent ten years creating a unique dub jazz fusion - but the fifth album was derailed by illness. Now they are back with 145;Dr Strangedub (or How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Dub The Bomb) 146;, the album comprises 8 new tracks and six radical reworks and remixes of tracks from "Addis to Omega" and is in the style of their Songlines award-winning third album "Dub Me Tender."The album title is a reflection on the strange trumpanomic-brexiting coldwar 3 weirdness presently ongoing, the times that we are living through, and Dubulah's perception of them through a dubadelic lens and jazz fusion visuals. Featuring guest appearances from original member Sintayehu "Mimi" Zenebe and Tsedenia Gebremarkos as well as new live line-up members Robert Mitchell and Oli Saville + artists as diverse as Almighty Dread, PJ Higgins, Mykaell S. Riley, Nahuel Tetro, Immodesty Blaize, Albert Kuvezin (of Yat Kha). Solos from Orphy Robinson, Harry Brown, Ben Somers, Bob Dowell, Greg Huff and Neil Waters ... as well as Dubulah and Toby "Radar Station" Mills.
