David Carroll was Musical Director for Mercury Records from 1951 to the early 1960s and who arranged and conducted for many of their star artists such as The Platters, The Crew Cuts and Sarah Vaughan. Under his own name, he recorded a string of excellently recorded and highly acclaimed easy listening LPs including "Percussion Orientale" featuring musical sounds of the Middle East and "Percussion Parisienne" which featured songs from the Parisian scene, both utilizing mainly percussion instruments. Neither LP has been on CD before and are appearing here with the addition of three bonus tracks.
