Description
The guitarist Dave Stryker's music is deeply rooted in the blues, having performed with Jack McDuff in the 80s and Stanley Turrentine in the 90s. 'Blue to the Bone IV' follows three previous chapters in a popular series that began in 1996.
'Blue to the Bone IV' features Stryker's regular organ trio (Jared Gold on B-3 and McClenty Hunter on drums). The music is marked by the presence of a kick-ass horn section, Hammond-B3 organ and tight arrangements that fulfil Stryker's original aim - to combine the sound of the Jazz Messengers with the horn section used by B.B. King. The music comprises five originals by Stryker alongside songs by The Isley Brothers, James Brown, Robert Johnson and Nat Adderley.
