The Watchman plays and sings Trans-Atlantic Folk.
Ad van Meurs, the country-blues section of Arabicana band No Blues, has asked some friends from his long lasting carreer to join him on this album. Together they go "Over The Top" like those brave soldiers in World War I when their captain ordered them to abandon the trenches in order to attack.
But don't be fooled by the title. The Watchman is no longer the angry young man from his hardcore folk period. Over The Top brings a pleasant mixture of Anglosakson folk, smooth jazz tunes all in a Parisien "Laissez Faire" mood.
Accordeon and saxophone, together with the regular Watchman setting make for a great record to listen or dance to, or maybe the soundtrack fora wonderfully romantic night on the town
