Description
Originally from Australia, Ray Swinfield has been one of the UK's top woodwind session musicians for over forty years. On these tracks, recorded in the eighties, the flute is very much to the fore, in a truly virtuosic jazz outing with an all star rhythm section, including pianist John Pearce, bassist Dave Green and drummer Alan Ganley.
Originally issued on a Wave Records LP as Ray Swinfield's Argenta Ora 'Angel Eyes', the music has been completely re-mastered and three previously unreleased tracks have been added. 'Reprise' includes an eclectic choice of material with pieces by Chick Corea, Tadd Dameron and Roland Kirk. Ray overdubs sax and clarinet on two tracks, but the spotlight is firmly on his superbly accomplished flute playing.
