Description
The initial experience of listening to this record is one of disbelief. How can the music be so ethereal, slipping through cognitive attempts to frame it? Once this suspended state has been accepted however, the listening experience brings the mind to wander in uncharted territories, abstract and even dark at times. The same is true of the record as is true of the music, referencing the Heraclitus quote chosen by Bryn Harrison for the album cover: ''You cannot step in the same river twice''.
Time Becoming brings side by side two works recorded by two of Europe's most exciting and versatile new music ensembles: Plus-Minus Ensemble (London) and Ensemble Contrechamps (Geneva), conducted by Mark Knoop and Vimbayi Kaziboni respectively.
The album was recorded in 3D format at the Zaragoza Auditorium, capturing immersive situations designed in close collaboration with the composer, using a multichannel microphone system built to recreate acoustic spaces in sound installations of 10 speakers.
The physical edition of Time Becoming includes a CD, a 26 pages booklet with liner notes by Bryn Harrison, and a code to download the HD version of the album (24bit and 96kHz) in stereo and 5.1 surround formats.
