Description
French composer and trombonist Vinko Globokar (*1934) is an icon of contemporary music. Having studied with Leibowitz and Berio, he has not only advanced the playing technique of his own instrument significantly, but can also look at a substantial oeuvre as a composer.
This exciting release presents the Norwegian group BIT20 with premiere recordings of two major ensemble works, conducted by Globokar himself, in what can be called "definitive recordings".
Performance artist Alwynne Pritchard contributes a small piece written for her.
This recording is one of the most important releases of this year within contemporary music, if not of the decade.
