"If you're seeking out more than the usual run of the mill cookie cutter blues scale "sludge" that seems to be everywhere these days, then this release is well worth your time and energy as it might well scratch your itch." - The Sleeping Shaman. In 2013, two individuals who had previously been part of a black metal group called "Slecht" sought to delve into a slower, heavier style of music that made a bold impact. Their initial venture, operating as a trio under the name "Bagger," fell short of the weightiness they desired. To bolster their sound, they enlisted the help of a longtime friend, who had previously been involved with bands such as Lemuria and My Lament. As they began to craft their first musical compositions together, they found themselves in need of a fitting name. Inspired by an article detailing rats known for launching aggressive attacks on unsuspecting victims, they settled on the moniker "Throatsnapper." Five years following the release of their "About the Dead" album in 2019, new material by Throatsnapper is ready to be unleashed upon the masses. This album serves as a seamless continuation from their previous work, addressing the daily spectrum of emotions, both positive and negative, that characterize existence itself. Comprising eight tracks, the album showcases a discernible evolution in their sound, capturing a more raw, live ambiance. For fans of Conan, YOB, Bongripper, Weedeater
