This release contains the complete classic album The High and Mighty Hawk (Felsted SJA2005), presentingHawkins with an all-star quintet including trumpeter Buck Clayton, pianist Hank Jones, bassist Ray Brown and drummer Mickey Sheen. Another complete quintet session has been added as a bonus. It was recorded the previous week, and features Hawkins, Jones and Sheen again, with the addition of Roy Eldridge on trumpet and George Duvivier on bass.
