  • Description

What if Johann Sebastian Bach could play the accordion? This question is on the minds of many musicians who play this instrument, who look with dreamy longing at its short history. This album [...] is a kind of experiment, an attempt to juxtapose contemporary accordion instruments with a string quintet playing historical instruments. The sound colors obtained in this way are intended to reflect as closely as possible the sound of the musical world of Bach's epoch, in which accordionists performing solo parts tried to mark their somewhat timid presence, for years seeking the possibility of artistic realization within baroque music.

If we looked into the recent past, such a combination might seem to us an "artistic misalliance", although it may be difficult to accept for many contemporary lovers of early music. However, the authors of the album wanted to refer to the universal truths and beauty of Bach's music. Using the tools close to them, with courage and open imagination, they followed paths they had never known before, and so they let themselves be carried away by the unpredictable consequences of the journey.

I encourage all listeners individually to answer the question of whether it was worth it, deeply believing that the selected work can be as revealing and inspiring for them as for the performers playing on this album. and so they let themselves be carried away by the unpredictable consequences of the journey.
