  • Description

Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce the release of the self-titled album by Panama Limited Jug Band. This collective of musicians formed in the late months of 1968 with a line-up of Gary Compton (harmonica), Liz Hanns (vocals), Brian Strachan (guitar), Ron Needs (mandolin) and Dennis Parker (lead vocals, guitar, banjo).

The group soon found favour with DJ John Peel, an early champion of their work, and they became one of the first signings to EMIs new underground label, Harvest. Their self-titled debut album was released in July 1969 (one of the first on the famous imprint) and has since become a highly sought after record by collectors, with an original copy now being valued at many hundreds of pounds.
