Description
• Three albums recorded by Daryle Singletary for Giant Records from 1995 – 1998.
In 1995, the Honky-Tonking track 'I’m Living Up To Her Low Expectations’, penned by Bob McDill and Tommy Rocco, first put the Singletary name in the charts. The single stamped out his identity as a singer in the best Country music tradition.
Four months later, his 2nd single 'I Let Her Lie’, written by Tim Johnson, began its climb to the No. 2 position and eventually wound up as the biggest hit of the singer’s career.
Singletary took pride in keeping his music traditionally Country. He is quoted on his website as saying – 'There are still people out there who want to hear traditional Country, I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to always keep it real and not have to compromise.'
Born on March 10th 1971 in Cairo, Georgia, tragically, Daryle Singletary died unexpectedly at his home in Lebanon, Tennessee, from a blood clot on February 12th 2018, having played his final concert three days earlier in Dadeville, Alabama. He was 46-years old and the Country music world lost a singer, whose voice was once described as melding a George Jones warble with the warmth of Merle Haggard.
As Country music historian Alan Cackett commented: 'Daryle Singletary commanded a sizeable and loyal fan base. The moment you hear him, you know you want to hear him again and again. When it comes to genuine hard-core Country there are few that can match the inimitable Daryle Singletary.'
