When Joliet “Jake” Blues saw the light from above James Brown’s pulpit in The Blue Brothers, the congregation were intoxicated with the sound and the vision; a pretty accurate reflection on the 1950’s and early 60s spiritualism that overflowed from the churches into the recording studios to produce a series of 78s that filled radio stations with some of the greatest voices ever.
