Description
Exquisite music between late Romanticism and Impressionism, which [...] absolutely deserves to be heard. There is not much to add to the words of the reviewer who reviewed the first part of this complete recording for klassik-heute: Leopold van der Pals, scion of Danish-Dutch parents who grew up in Russia, spent his life searching for the truths that open up in higher worlds - through the natural scientist Goethe and his spiritual successor Rudolf Steiner, through his own experiences and ever new explorations of the possibilities of the infinite metamorphosis to which all becoming is exposed. The current release concludes the cycle of string quartets and also presents as a bonus the beautiful-sounding, distinctive Quintet for flute and strings, which, in its renunciation of all virtuoso attitudes, makes a special impression on the composer.
